General Description:

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for growing Conservis’ revenue in an assigned territory of row crop farmers.  

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Within the assigned territory, develop an intimate understanding of the agribusiness ecosystem and establish key relationships
  • Create and execute territory plans to grow bookings and revenue
  • Develop and execute prospect closing strategies and proposals to enable predictive performance to sales targets and forecasts
  • Partner with Customer Success to ensure a thorough new customer on-boarding and kick-off process
  • Work with existing clients in assigned territory to ensure they are becoming advocates for Conservis
  • Provide market insight, represent the voice of the customer and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the Conservis offering
  • Ability to travel to customer sites up to 70% of the time

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ successful selling experience of agriculture or technical business services
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
  • Agriculture literate
  • Digital and technically savvy
  • Must be comfortable selling your expertise and intangibles to new prospects in a developing market

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – IOWA CORN

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the development and management of effective, efficient and comprehensive leadership development programs for the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and Iowa Corn Growers Association.  The position will support the boards, committees, staff and grassroots organization at all levels in developing and delivering relevant development programs. The incumbent also effectively directs the Association’s I-LEAD (Iowa Corn Leadership Enhancement and Development Program) and CAT (Iowa Corn Collegiate Advisory Team) programs.

Essential Position Accountabilities:

  1. Directs I-LEAD and CAT agricultural leadership development/education programs (including but not limited to recruitment, class selection, program design and delivery). Serves as liaison with class members, graduates, program supporters, internal staff, external promotion, etc.
  2. Develops and delivers comprehensive leadership development materials and programs for all of Iowa Corn.
  3. Develops and facilitates a three-year leadership development plan and schedule for each functional area of the Iowa Corn organization.
  4. Identifies relevant third-party resources (individuals and programs) that can support the internal training program and coordinates the seamless integration of these resources into the comprehensive Iowa Corn leadership development plan.
  5. Responsible for training, coaching and relating to program participants from various agricultural backgrounds including farmers as well as industry professionals.
  6. Develops and implements training programs that support the work of the State Boards and Committees of Iowa Corn including, but not limited to media, personality, etiquette, meeting facilitation and customer service training.
  7. Develops and implements training programs that support the work requirements and leadership development of Staff including the Management Team, District Field Managers and individual staff functional departments.
  8. Develops and implements training programs in coordination with the Director of Grower Services, that support the grassroots structure including the local and district boards managing development programs that support ICGA membership recruiting and retention efforts.
  9. Develop and implement training programs in coordination with the Director of Government Relations that enhance and support ICGA policy development at all levels in the Iowa Corn organization.
  10. Responsible for working with education and leadership programs including, but not limited to, Future Famers of American (FFA), 4-H, Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement (IFAA), Iowa Agricultural Literacy Foundation (IALF), Iowa Postsecondary Agricultural Student Organization (PAS) and Agriculture Future of America (AFA).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from four-year college or university is required and a Master’s degree is a plus. Six to ten years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expertise preferred in private enterprise and/or non-profit sector leadership development, education, communications, and organizational development.
  • Ability to manage multi-level projects in a high volume, ever-changing environment.  Experience in creating curriculum.
  • Understanding and awareness of agricultural socio-economic and environmental issues necessary.  Knowledge of commodity organizations would be a plus including membership programs, legislative issues, etc.
  • Travel experience and knowledge of world and national agriculture issues and experience in working with volunteers and grassroots programs would be a plus.

 

  • Ability to create “table of contents” documents, create and perform various analysis using spreadsheets.
  • Advanced Internet search skills, advanced Word documents skills; advanced knowledge of Publisher, or other desktop publishing software.
  • Ability to create advanced Power Point presentations.

Compensation:

LIVE PRODUCTION MANAGER – CONFIDENTIAL – IOWA EGG PRODUCER

General Description:

Our client is seeking a Live Production Manager to oversee all farm operations including facility upkeep, livestock health, safety and product handling as well as management of staff.  Successful candidates will have a background in agriculture and a strong business acumen.  He or she will serve on the executive management team and drive vision for the company as well as the day to day operations.  

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee livestock farming operation
  • Ensure livestock health and safety through nutrition and environmental management and enforcement of bio-hazard and other company policies
  • Oversee and maintain production facility including approximately 15 production and maintenance employees
  • Optimize production facility ensuring equipment is running at maximum capacity and efficiency
  • Manage contractors/vendors as it relates to facility operation and upkeep
  • Reports directly to the President of the company
  • Travel up to 30%

AGRONOMY DEPARTMENT MANAGER – Eldon C. Stutsman, Inc.

Become part of the senior management team of a long-standing, progressive independent ag retailer in southeast Iowa.    Eldon C. Stutsman, Inc. (Stutsman) of Hills, IA is hiring an Agronomy Department Manager to lead and oversee its agronomy retail locations and contribute to its wholesale fertilizer business.   The Agronomy Department Manager will have P&L responsibilities for seven retail locations as well as chemical and fertilizer procurement.   The Agronomy Sales Manager, Agronomy Operations/Logistics Manager, and Seed Manager will report to this position.

The successful candidate will have managed multiple retail locations with operations oversight.   Fertilizer and chemical procurement experience is needed; sales experience would be desirable.   The candidate must have a working level of agronomic knowledge but need not be a CCA.    The candidate will have staff management experience.   Prior involvement in the Fluid Fertilizer Foundation or other fertilizer industry organization would be ideal.
