Responsibilities and Duties

In its vision “To be the best state agribusiness association”, the Agribusiness Association of Iowa (AAI) leads by advocating, communicating, and educating to enhance the viability of its members.  To that end, AAI seeks a leader that can help AAI fulfill its vision.

The CEO will ensure that AAI retains a respected voice in the state and national legislative and regulatory affairs affecting agribusinesses in Iowa.  Likewise, AAI will continue to educate and communicate with its members those issues which can impact the viability of their businesses.  Finally, the CEO will develop and maintain relationships with important stakeholders in Iowa, regionally, and nationally.  This is an opportunity to truly impact Iowa agriculture.

Candidates interested in this position should be highly organized with a proven ability to develop, lead, and drive organizational strategy through a team effort.  Due to the evolving nature of agribusiness, AAI seeks a leader with the aptitude and willingness to take “calculated risks”, submit new ideas, and encourage “non-traditional” thinking.  An entrepreneurial mindset would be welcomed.   It is essential that the successful candidate have strong personal skills with a genuine interest in other people and building relationships.   Finally, the CEO will have a solid understanding of business financials ideally with a proven record of revenue growth.
