Farmers Coop Elevator Co. (Radcliffe Coop), Radcliffe, IA; is an established and successful single location company with sales of $32M in FY22 is hiring a new General Manager due to retirement. Located in an exception agricultural area in Hardin County with a loyal customer base, the coop is over 100 years old. Radcliffe Coop has 23 employees driving the grain, agronomy, feed, and energy departments. Radcliffe Coop is supported by CoBank as its lender and is part of the UBG retirement program.
The General Manager will report to an eight-member Board of Directors and will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and control of all planning and operational aspects of the business. He/she will provide management leadership in the planning and determination of business strategies, policies and programs.
The ideal candidate will have successful managerial experience in the ag industry with some level of P&L accountability. The greatest emphasis will be placed on evaluating individual situations regarding job complexity, P&L and balance sheet accountability, and results/success.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the ag retail business (independent or cooperative). Risk management knowledge and experience in grain marketing and/or operations is required. Knowledge of agronomy marketing and pricing would be desirable. The candidate must have previous employee leadership/supervisory experience. The candidate must have experience driving an annual and/or capital budgeting process, as well as implementation. Finally, excellent interpersonal communication skills are absolutely required for this position.
