The Heart of America Dairy Herd Improvement Association (HoA DHIA) seeks an Assistant General Manager to increase its marketing and public relations efforts while preparing to become the General Manager after a year of excellent performance.    HoA DHIA is headquartered in Lincoln, NE, and covers the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and parts of Missouri, Iowa, and Colorado.

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will be responsible for maintaining relationships with current herds as well as recruiting new herds for the organization.  In order to do so, the AGM will become proficient with all HoA electronic and data reporting programs.    Likewise, the AGM will support the training of new field technicians as well as assist in hiring new technicians.   He/she will also oversee communication efforts via newsletters and the organization’s website. In preparation for the General Manager role, the AGM will work with the current General Manager to become familiar with the financial and organizational management of the organization.

The successful candidate must be familiar with or willing to learn the dairy business.   The person must be comfortable with computers/technology and willing to learn the DRMS programs.    Willingness to travel in a multi-state area with some occasional overnight stays is required.    The AGM must handle themselves in a professional manner at all times.  Finally, the successful candidate must be willing to learn and prepare themselves for a greater leadership role in the future.
