GENERAL MANAGER – FARMERS COOP ASSOCIATION & VISION AG LLC

Farmers Cooperative Association (FCA) and Vision Ag LLC, an established, successful, and consistently profitable multi-location cooperative and joint venture with $64M in sales headquartered in Keota, Iowa, is seeking a General Manager to oversee all aspects of its ag retail business.   Vision Ag is a full-service agronomy retailer, with FCA and WinField United as the owners.  Established in 1935, FCA has 87 full-time employees and 33 part-time employees driving the agronomy, grain, feed, and energy departments.   FCA and Vision Ag are supported by CoBank, CFA, and Libertyville Savings Bank as its lender and is part of the UBG retirement program. 

            The General Manager will report to a seven-member Board of Directors and will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and control of all planning and operational aspects of the business. He/she will provide management leadership in the planning and determination of business strategies, policies, and programs.  This person will also be responsible for directing and coordinating all aspects of operations through direct reports.

            The ideal candidate will have successful managerial experience in the ag industry with P&L accountability. However, the greatest emphasis will be placed on evaluating individual situations regarding job complexity, P&L, and balance sheet accountability, and results/success.

            The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the ag retail business (independent or cooperative).  Purchasing, operations, and agronomy knowledge and experience is highly desirable.  The candidate must have previous employee leadership/supervisory experience.  The candidate must have experience driving an annual and/or capital budgeting process, as well as implementation.  Finally, excellent interpersonal communication skills are absolutely required for this position.
