Responsibilities and Duties

The North Central Poultry Association (NCPA) and Iowa Egg Council (IEC), based in Urbandale, IA., are commencing a search for its next Executive Director due to the impending retirement of Kevin Stiles, its current Executive Director.

The Executive Director is responsible for the effective leadership of the NCPA/IEC and the execution of its mission and goals through dual reporting to the respective Board of Directors of each organization. The executive provides high-integrity leadership to recommend and participate in the formulation of new policies and initiatives to promote the expansion of the egg and poultry industry. In addition, this executive will make decisions within existing policies as approved by the NCPA/IEC. This individual plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates programs and advocates effective internal and external relationships, while achieving economical, productive performance in NCPA/IEC’s programs.

Successful candidates will have previous senior level leadership experience, with previous Executive Director or similar experience preferred.   Previous association experience is also preferred.  Candidates should have a professional ag background, with experience in animal agriculture strongly preferred.   The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in leading a staff and will have excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of stakeholders.   Finally, the successful candidate will have previous involvement in developing and implementing strategic plans.
