The General Manager will report to a seven-member Board of Directors and will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and control of all planning and operational aspects of the business. She/he will provide management leadership in the planning and determination of business strategies, policies, and programs.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Cedar County Cooperative, Tipton, IA; is an established and successful two location company with sales of approximately $130M in FY24 is hiring a new General Manager to lead the cooperative.  Located in an exceptional agricultural area with a loyal customer base, the coop is over 90 years old.  Cedar County Coop has about 50 full-time employees driving the grain, agronomy, feed, and energy departments.  Cedar County Coop is known for its long history of superior customer service.  The coop is supported by CoBank as its lender.   

 

 

THE POSITION

The General Manager will report to a seven-member Board of Directors and will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and control of all planning and operational aspects of the business. She/he will provide management leadership in the planning and determination of business strategies, policies, and programs.

 

The ideal candidate will have successful managerial experience in the ag industry with strong experience in financial management with a high level of P&L accountability.  The greatest emphasis will be placed on evaluating individual situations regarding job complexity, P&L, and balance sheet accountability, and results/success.

 

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the ag retail business (independent or cooperative).   Risk management knowledge and experience in grain marketing and/or operations is desirable.   Knowledge of agronomy marketing and pricing would be desirable as well.  The candidate must have previous employee leadership/supervisory experience.  The candidate must have experience driving an annual and/or capital budgeting process, as well as implementation.  Finally, excellent interpersonal communication skills are required for this position.​
