The Sales Agronomist is a consultative position with a direct farm approach. This position will establish and execute a sales strategy focused around customer relationship building and mutual success.

Position Overview:
This position is a consultative Sales Agronomist position with a direct farm approach. This position will report to the Director of Sales. This position interfaces with operations, accounting, and the finance solutions team. Requirements include establishing and executing a sales strategy, which maintains and grows client relationships and mutual success.
Duties include:

Strengthen and Expand: build upon the relationships of established customers each year to understand future operation goals & align PCE resources in areas that are possible.

This position manages the client relationship through their agronomic program(s) including account communication.

This position is supported by the PCE Agronomy Solutions Team and PCE Customer Experience Team.

Personal Professional Development that includes a thorough understanding of soil, agronomy, crop science, and planting/harvesting practices.

Ability to consult with customers and potential customers, develop plans, close the sale of the developed plans, and transition the plans to work orders for fulfillment.

Prepare action plans and schedules to identify targets of growth opportunities. Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts assigned.

Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts.

Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.

Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.

Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up.

Identify and support claim resolution process.

Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closing, follow-up and adherence to sales goals.

Evaluate the nutrient management programs, monitor plant response to nutrient application on a regular basis.

Evaluate farm nutrient levels from soils, plants, and manures and integrate into a nutrient management strategy.

Stay up to date on current agronomic and pesticide information through continued education.
Required Qualifications:
-
4‐year degree in Agri‐Business related program or 2-year Agri‐Business related certification with 3 years applicable Ag career experience.

Acquire &/or maintain Certified Crop Advisor certification.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Strong computer/technology skills.

Experience & proficient aptitude with software tools: FieldAlytics, EFC, Microsoft Office

Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi‐task, and the ability to work well in a team.
