The Chief Executive Officer will report to an eight-member Board of Directors and will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and control of all planning and operational aspects of the business. She/he will provide management leadership in the planning and determination of business strategies, policies, and programs.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Crystal Valley Cooperative, Mankato, Minnesota; a successful, progressive, sixteen-location company with sales of approximately $425M in FY24 is hiring a new Chief Executive Officer.  Located in an exceptional agricultural area with a loyal customer base, the cooperative is nearly 100 years old.  Crystal Valley has about 225 full-time employees driving the grain, agronomy, feed, and energy departments.  Crystal Valley is known for offering state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, technology, and customer service to support their members.  The coop is supported by CoBank as its lender.   

 

 

THE POSITION

The Chief Executive Officer will report to an eight-member Board of Directors and will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and control of all planning and operational aspects of the business. She/he will provide management leadership in the planning and determination of business strategies, policies, and programs.

 

The ideal candidate will have successful, executive level experience in financial management, P&L accountability, and driving sustainable profitability and growth.  The greatest emphasis will be placed on evaluating individual situations regarding job complexity, P&L, and balance sheet accountability, and results/success.

 

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of and passion for the ag retail business (independent or cooperative).   Risk management knowledge and experience in ag retail business is desirable. The candidate must have extensive previous employee leadership/supervisory experience and a successful track record of building teams.  The candidate must have experience driving an annual and/or capital budgeting process, as well as implementation.  Finally, excellent interpersonal communication and relationship building skills are required for this position.
